PGH Lab announced its 4th cycle in late August and other cities are taking note. From Durham, NC to Austin, TX, city governments are noticing the incredible partnerships and opportunities driven through this type of testing model connecting with local startups. To date the local initiative has engaged 15 startups, piloting technology and services government may not have known of without the PGH Lab model, and other cities are paying attention. In 2018 Durham launched a similar program after conversations with the City of Pittsburgh. With a program that inspires collaboration, invites ingenuity into city government, and provides a service to the local entrepreneurship community, PGH Lab is a program to celebrate and share with other cities across the country.
